Position: Construction Laborer
Job Description:
Apex Pavers and Pools is seeking dedicated Pool Construction Laborers to join our team. This is a labor-intensive role, perfect for those who are physically fit and enjoy working outdoors. As a Pool Construction Laborer, you will play a crucial role in the hands-on construction and installation of in-ground pools, working closely with our experienced team to ensure every project meets our high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Physical Labor: Perform heavy manual labor, including digging, trenching, lifting, and moving materials, tools, and equipment around the construction site.
- Excavation Assistance: Aid in the excavation of pool sites by hand-digging trenches, leveling surfaces, and removing debris.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials such as concrete, gravel, rebar, and pool liners to designated areas on-site.
- Site Preparation: Prepare the construction site for pool installation by clearing obstacles, setting up formwork, and ensuring all necessary materials are ready for use.
- Equipment Operation: Operate basic construction tools and equipment, including shovels, wheelbarrows, mixers, and compactors, while following safety protocols.
- Concrete Work: Assist in the mixing, pouring, and spreading of concrete for pool foundations, decks, and other structural components.
- Support to Skilled Workers: Provide labor support to skilled tradespeople such as masons, plumbers, and electricians by carrying tools, holding materials in place, and performing other assistive tasks.
- Clean-up Duties: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by regularly clearing debris, sweeping, and disposing of waste materials.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience in construction labor, landscaping, or similar physical work is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- Physical Fitness: Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
- Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and able to work full shifts without supervision.
- Teamwork: Ability to work well with others, follow instructions, and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
- Safety Minded: Awareness of and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required.
