As the Chief Estimator, you will be an integral member of the preconstruction team. Your expertise will drive the creation of accurate and competitive bids for a range of pool and paver projects. With a focus on both residential and commercial projects, you'll collaborate with internal teams and negotiate with vendors to ensure we provide the best possible service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Bidding & Proposals: Create comprehensive proposals and bids for new construction projects by capturing project details, performing takeoffs, and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the preconstruction team to develop cost estimates and feasibility recommendations, ensuring project profitability and competitiveness.
- Vendor Negotiations: Build strong relationships with vendors and negotiate for the best possible pricing on materials and services.
- Industry Expertise: Stay current on industry-related training, software, and best practices to continually improve estimating processes.
- Team Development: Assist in the training and development of new Apex team members, sharing knowledge and best practices within the company.
- Continuous Improvement: Always be ready to take on tasks outside your regular scope, contributing to the overall success of Apex.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator, with a focus on commercial and residential pool or paver projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Stack or similar, with the ability to perform detailed plan takeoffs.
- Familiarity with RFP, RFQ, and Pre-Qualification project documents; understanding of ITB project scopes.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, vendors, and clients.
- Familiarity with Florida construction regulations and codes related to pool and paver projects is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills to assess project feasibility and profitability.
- Excellent business development skills, with the ability to build strong vendor and client relationships.
- Ability to handle multiple bids/projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines consistently.
Salary & Benefits:
- Full Time
- Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000, based on experience.
