The service and installation technician at New England Bow Thruster works both in the field and at the shop on new installs and involved service work. this position demands the ability to work as a team and also independently as needed. While working at New England Bow Thruster you will learn to install bow and stern thrusters along with a wide variety of other marine items. Technicians shall provide excellent customer service while displaying a high level of skill and technical competency. Training is provided to obtain this level. The ability to travel is a must.
An ideal candidate will have electrical systems knowledge with experience diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues in DC and AC systems. the candidate also displays Fiberglass construction and repair expertise along with a can-do "get it done on time" attitude that true professionals possess.
Automotive/diesel or small engine repair and/or auto body experience is helpful. Techs with these backgrounds have had a high success rate and make the transition to our crew with ease.

Day to Day Technician Tasks
- Work with team members on bow and stern thruster installations and or service
- Electrical system installation and troubleshooting
- Fiberglass fabrication (will train)
- Hydraulic systems work
- Windlass anchoring systems installation and service
- Electronic engine control system installation and service
- Daily paperwork is all electronic, no paper.
Experience/Skills / Knowledge
- Preferred 1 year experience in boat repair, any field of automotive/auto body/diesel or small engine repair
- Working knowledge of AC/DC systems and multi meter use
- Ability to efficiently troubleshoot multi-system platforms (IE, - electrical/hydraulic and basic mechanical)
- Experience running boats is a big plus
- Provide an excellent customer experience. (polite friendly communicative clean professional )
- Experience with basic hand and power tools as well as table saws and router
- Excellent communication skills (including knowing when to ask for help)
- High aptitude for organization and accuracy of assigned jobs
- Ability to work independently and finish jobs on time
- Desire to work with your hands in a highly technical field
- Having pride in your work
- and for all sake...COMMON SENSE
- Being bi-lingual in English & Spanish is a plus
- Compensation is based on starting knowledge
Job type: full time
Pay: $20.00 -$23.00 per hour (Proven skills + experience obtain even higher rates.)
There is a 30-day skill evaluation/training period. At the end of this 30 days, a review will assess your learning and skills and pay rate may increase at this time
Excelling in your training or skills on or before 30 days, will also be recognized.

Schedule:
- Monday 7am start for weekly team meetings
- Monday – Friday with overtime regularly
- Weekends are rare and by request only
Education
- High school or equivalent (preferred)
License/certification:
- Driver’s License (required)
- DOT medical card (must acquire during 30-day period)
