Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Traffic Controller (Flagger) to oversee traffic flow and ensure the safety of workers and the public at construction sites. The ideal candidate will have their flagger card and experience with temporary traffic control.
Responsibilities:
Safety is our business! As a Flagger/Traffic Controller you are responsible for various road closures and the safety of those passing by. You will have to close off roads using cones/ barricades and be responsible for two-way flagging. Two-way flagging is using a stop & slow sign to allow the traffic to know when they can pass work zones safely.
Duties:
- Direct traffic at construction sites to ensure safe passage for workers, pedestrians, and motorists
- Coordinate with construction crews to facilitate the movement of equipment and materials
- Implement traffic control plans in compliance with safety regulations
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barricades
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate traffic flow
Skills:
- Experience in operating the stop/slow paddle effectively
- Ability to be present while crews are working
- Proficiency in temporary traffic control
- Strong understanding of traffic control procedures and safety protocols
