Summary:
Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Routinely sets up signs and barriers in accordance with training and traffic control supervisor directions
- Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
- Load, unload or identify building materials, machinery, or tools distributing them to the appropriate locations
- Control traffic passing near, in or around work zones with appropriate training provided
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials with appropriate training provided
- Ability to understand and comply with safety considerations as set herein and as directed by the foreman/supervisor
- May be required to walk long distances over uneven or rough terrain
- May be required to drive motor vehicle in performance of duties
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Requirements:
- Must be able to follow specific directions; perform a variety of duties which may often change; work within standards of accuracy; repeat tasks according to set procedures and safety requirements
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma preferred and on-the-job training required
- Certification per State guidelines is a plus
