Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm
This entry/intermediate-level position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of diesel machinery, including forklifts, rubber tire loaders, knuckle booms, and diesel engines. The Diesel Mechanic will play a key role in ensuring that all diesel-powered equipment is operational, safe, and maintained to the highest standards. Additionally, this position requires assisting with all other aspects of plant maintenance as needed. It is ideal for individuals seeking to deepen their expertise in diesel mechanics and learn about industrial maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on diesel machinery and equipment such as forklifts, rubber tire loaders, and knuckle booms to ensure optimal functionality and safety.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and engine issues in diesel-powered equipment, implementing effective solutions promptly.

Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel motors, hydraulic systems, and other related mechanical components.

Ensure all diesel equipment and tools meet company safety standards and are in proper working condition.

Maintain clear documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.

Assist in all areas of Maintenance as necessary including but not limited to:
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding maintenance schedules, project status, and challenges.
This position may require overtime as needed to ensure prompt delivery of maintenance to critical production operations. This position also requires the employee to be on-call a minimum of once a week from 3:30 PM to 9 PM.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; certifications in diesel mechanics or related fields are a plus.

1+ years of experience in a diesel mechanic role

Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Experience with operating and maintaining diagnostic tools and various hand and power tools.

Willingness to learn and adapt as needed to support overall plant maintenance operations.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.

Ability to work in an industrial setting with exposure to loud noises, temperature variations, and outdoor environments.
Must be comfortable performing tasks that require physical effort such as lifting, bending, and working in tight spaces.
