York County Roads Department invites applications for Road Crew 1. The Roads Crew operates various heavy equipment as needed. Wages start at $18.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on qualifications plus benefit package (health insurance, wellness program, retirement plan, vacation, holiday & sick leave). Pre-employment background and drug screen required. The position is subject to a veteran's preference. York County is an EOE.
Hours: Summer: M-Th 7am – 5:30pm. Winter: M-F 7am – 3:30pm.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- 1-3 months related experience or training, preferred.
- Valid Nebraska Driver’s License, required.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to present information in small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Ability to manage problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
