We are looking for a hard-working, dependable, safety-oriented team player with a positive attitude to join our growing team and help us to build and maintain client and Staff relationships through their on-site traffic control needs.
Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the Dispatcher, the Deployment Team & our traffic control crews based in the Maritimes, the Field Supervisor is expected to:
- Ensure the highest quality of all traffic control locations is attained by regularly inspecting & auditing the sites, the workforce, the fleet, the signs/equipment/PPEs and setup to make sure that they are all up to code and operating at their highest efficiency manner.
- Record, document and communicate back all the daily reports to the management team for quality control and continuous improvement purposes.
- Provide excellent on-site customer services and feedback to management accordingly to make sure customers at all levels are satisfied
- Assist the General Manager and the Operations Manager to max out the human capital on site with the deployment of the Guardian Smart Flaggers (aka AFAD)
- Be able to quantify the improvements after new measures were introduced to the daily operations.
- Develop and execute health and safety plans in the jobsites to ensure compliance & Zero Harm is achieved.
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of high performance, health and safety Initiative and evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
- Conduct training and presentations for high performance, health and safety matters and accident prevention
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
- Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
- This position will spend a lot of time on the road to perform the duties
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as field supervisor with solid track record in site inspection/audit, operational excellence & continuous improvement
- Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
- Ability in building/producing reports and developing relevant policies
- Good knowledge of Excel spreadsheet, data analysis and risk assessment
- Excellent organizational, motivational skills & multitasking capability
- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- BSc/BA/Diploma in site inspection, quality control, safety management or relevant field is preferred
- Valid qualification in occupational health and safety/Six Sigma/Lean Management
- Traffic Control Experience is a must
- Traffic Control Person and Temporary Workplace Signer certification is required
