Boundary Zone, Inc. is recruiting for a Land Survey CAD Technician to support the Land Survey Department in the development of survey plan documents for projects. This role provides technical support to project managers and field crews by calculating, analyzing, coordinating and researching information as well as preparing drawings and boundary resolution utilizing CAD. Only candidates with land surveying and CAD experience will be contacted. This is a Full-Time Position located at our corporate headquarters in Suwanee, Georgia.

Essential Functions for a Survey CAD Tech
- Evaluates survey data for accuracy and sufficiency.
- Ensures compliance to applicable regulations and standards related to survey’s, plats, plans, boundaries, land features, etc.
- Prepares data for all surveying needs.
- Performs deed research, deed plotting, and map checks.
- Research legal records, survey records, and reviews land titles to obtain information about property boundaries, encumbrances, and areas to be surveyed.
- Calculate COGO points with metes and bounds.
- Produces CAD drawings to include topography, title, and tree surveys, coordinate control plans, and subdivision plats.
- Prepares survey plats and drawings, land descriptions and subdivision plans.
- Prepare plot plans and survey deliverables
- Prepares preliminary descriptions of property boundary surveys for usage in deeds, and other legal documents.
- Knowledge of all types of surveys; ALTA, boundary, topographic, tree, etc., as well as construction staking and GPS experience.
- Ensures technical accuracy, standard surveying practices, and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various plans, reports, and exhibits.
- Assists in performing land descriptions and calculations as necessary.
- Adaptable to new technology.
- Working knowledge of Carlson, a plus.
- Performs other related duties as necessary.
- Knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics:
- Experience performing survey drafting.
- Competent in mathematical skills.
- Field experience in land surveying.
- Executing work as directed.
- Preparing and presenting information in a clear and concise manner.
- Meeting company, client, and jurisdictional standards.
- Organizational skills to schedule work and accomplish goals on projects on time and within budget.
Must Have: Valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) preferred but not required.
