Job Description :

Summary:

Paver Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the asphalt paver.

Responsibilities:

Operate the paver and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as required.
Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
Thorough understanding of all aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving.
Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
Work with Safety Department to investigate damage, incidents or near misses in the worksite, and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company’s Safety Program.
Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure one self, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.
Qualifications Education, Training and Certifications
Overtime as required.
Be able to work nights and weekends if needed.

Requirements:

High School diploma or GED
Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience within the road construction industry
2 to 3 years’ experience operating a Paver is required.
Knowledge of Paver and other heavy equipment.
Knowledge road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements.
Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Be willing to work overtime when required.
Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
Heavy Equipment Operation
Demonstrate professionalism
Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
Knowledge of ADA compliant code
Knowledge of site grades

Salary:

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

10 hour shift
Extended hours
Monday to Friday
Nights as needed
Weekends as needed
