The Mowbray's Tree Service Crew Foreman is responsible for coordinating the daily activities at the work site to ensure operations personnel adhere to all safety protocols, quality standards and deadlines. They serve as the point of contact for supervisors, clients, customers, and crew members.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a crew of tree trimmers, ensuring that all work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Assign tasks to crew members based on their skills and experience.
- Train new crew members on proper tree trimming techniques, safety procedures, and the use of equipment.
- Ensure all crew members adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of tools and machinery.
- Monitor work sites for potential safety risks and take corrective action as needed.
- Plan and coordinate daily work activities, ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Communicate with property owners to plan work and obtain necessary permissions.
- Inspect job sites before and after work to ensure that all trees and brush are cleared according to specifications and that no damage is done to surrounding property or power lines.
- Oversee the maintenance and proper use of all equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
- Ensure that all equipment is inspected regularly and maintained in good working order.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or needs for repair to management promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including time sheets, job reports, and safety inspections.
- Provide regular updates to management on project progress and any issues encountered.
- Lead/support incident response efforts.
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tree trimming, line clearance
- Experience working around power lines and other utility structures is required.
Skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of tree trimming techniques, safety regulations, and equipment operation.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to work in various weather conditions if required by the job.
Must have the ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, including twisting, bending, climbing, and stooping.
Must possess fine motor skills and dexterity to handle tools and equipment.
Other Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver’s license, CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is preferred.
Willingness to travel if required by the job.
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
