As Emergency Medical Service (EMS) providers, MMS Proudly serves the people of Guam, providing patient care and transportation services such as but not limited to routine scheduled appointments, hospital admittance / discharge, Interfacility, airport med-evacs and event medical stand-by, decontamination & Disinfection services
Marianas Medical Services is currently seeking remarkable men and women to become a part of our highly valued team of EMTs and other Health-Care Professionals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides patient care as appropriate, such as Assessing, treating and transporting patients with illness and/or injuries documents all clinical care as required.
- Renders medical care in accordance with the rules, regulations, protocols, policies, and procedures of Marianas Medical Services and the state, consistent with good judgment and the provision of high quality medical care.
- Ensures that the ambulance and equipment is ready for use at the beginning of the shift and after every call. This includes: Appropriate cleaning and disinfecting of the interior and exterior of the vehicle; Appropriate cleaning and disinfecting of equipment;
- Inspecting, restocking, and completing daily checklists of the vehicle and equipment; and Performing routine maintenance.
- Performs daily inspections of the base and/or station for cleanliness. Performs the appropriate housekeeping duties to ensure living quarters are clean, free from clutter and sanitary at all times.
- Works alongside with local and federal agencies in a professional manner, at his or her skill level, in accordance with state laws, regulations.
- Acts at all times in the best interests of high quality patient care, in the best interest of the patient, and in such a manner to reflect credibly on Marianas Medical Services and the professional reputation of the EMT.
- Acts at all times with his or her personal safety in mind, as well as the safety of his or her partner, the patient, other EMS personnel, bystanders, and any other public safety personnel present.
- Accompanies patients to their destination, continuing to provide appropriate care and patient advocacy until the responsibility for the patient has been transferred to an appropriate medical professional and a report has been given.
- Adheres to universal precautions/body substance isolation when dealing with patient contacts. Demonstrates familiarity with and acts in conformity with Marianas Medical Response’s infection control policies and procedures.
- When necessary and appropriate, acts as a team leader in dealing with emergency and non-emergency situations, directing and supervising other members of the crew.
- Performs duties related to the continuing improvement and development of Marianas Medical Services and the local EMS system.
- Accepts responsibility for recertification as an EMT by the applicable state agency. Completes appropriate continuing education courses in a timely fashion along with biannual recertification in BLS healthcare provider/cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- Reports to assigned shifts in proper uniform and on time unless the proper notification has been made. Remains on-duty and in proper uniform until properly relieved.
- Allows and is willing to accommodate third riders for orientation and/or educational purposes. Completes all documentation on behalf of student interns.
- Performs other duties as directed by Marianas Medical Services management team.
- Places patient care excellence and safety above all else.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current NREMT, as applicable to the state.
- Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and basic life support by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Current motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Ability to perform the following essential functions:
- Carry more than 20 lbs of equipment while walking, climbing and descending stairs, or traversing difficult terrain;
- Carry an adult patient, with a partner, up or down stairs or over difficult terrain;
- Lift an adult patient and the stretcher/gurney into an ambulance, with a partner;
- Perform other strenuous activities as required.

Pay: $12.25 - $14.00 per hour
