Texas Raised Gardens is a luxury home garden design and build company dedicated to creating stunning and functional outdoor spaces. As a small, local business with a close-knit team of five, we pride ourselves on providing high-touch, personalized service to our clients. Our mission is to help clients transform their homes with beautifully crafted garden spaces, supported by exceptional service and care.
**THIS IS AN AS-NEEDED POSITION where you will work 2-3 days most weeks out of the year but we have several slow-season weeks where there is no work. This position is EMPLOYMENT, not contracted. You will be on payroll and compensated per day that you work: $180 for up to a 6-hour shift, $22/hr after that up to 8 hours. We have a mandatory Zoom meeting every Monday you will be compensated to attend. For projects completed early, you are not required to stay the entire 6-hour shift, but will be paid that minimum amount.
The ideal candidate for this position enjoys hard work outside and has a customer-focused, task-focused nature. The purpose of this role is to support critical tasks related to installation of raised bed vegetable gardens and other landscaping work. We perform every step of the service for clients for a turnkey result. This role will report to job sites all over the greater Austin area from Dripping Springs to Georgetown. You will arrive at the time and location designated in our remote scheduling phone app and perform duties as assigned, such as moving gravel and soil with shovels and wheelbarrows, installing pavers, lifting and leveling pre-made garden beds and placing them according to the design, assembling trellises and some metal garden beds with simple hand tools, planting plants, clean up and more. This is a critical role, dedicated to ensure a smooth, high quality, client-focused experience for new garden builds. This position takes place outdoors and requires physical work in all kinds of weather and the ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly over several hours. You will use tools such as wheelbarrows, shovels, and other garden hand tools. Since we have projects all over Austin of various sizes and types, tasks and routines may transition quickly and strong versatility is a must.
```Responsibilities```
-Arriving on time to assigned job location, wearing required uniform, performing tasks as assigned.
-Using shovels, rakes, pruners, wheelbarrows and other garden hand tools that are employer-provided.
-Medium-to-heavy landscaping work such as moving gravel and soil, lifting and placing wooden raised beds and trellises, installing landscape fabric and pavers, trimming and removing plants, delicate tending, planting plants and much more. Work will be performed strictly to company standards and follow the training provided.
-Maintaining safe and tidy work practices that keep yourself, your teammates and the client’s property safe and protected.
-Ability to use our remote time tracking and scheduling app on a smart phone and home computer as well as communicate and receive assignments via our Slack workspace
