Job Summary:
As a MCE Wind Technician, you will play a crucial role in the installation of drive trains, Rotors, Generators and repair of wind turbines at various project sites. This position requires extensive travel and provides an exciting opportunity to work on different wind farms, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to the growth of renewable energy. You will work as part of a team, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of wind turbines.
Key Responsibilities:
Performing installation of drive trains, Gear boxes, Generators, and repair tasks on wind turbines and associated equipment at project sites across multiple locations.
Conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities to identify potential issues and ensure optimal turbine performance.
Rigging components to remove components
Collaborating with team members, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure coordinated efforts and successful project completion.
Following all safety protocols, work procedures, and quality standards to maintain a safe work environment.
Documenting all MCE activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition, utilizing digital systems or other established procedures.
Providing guidance and support to Level 1 Wind Technicians and assisting in their training and development.
Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to wind turbine technology and maintenance.
Maintaining a professional demeanor and fostering positive relationships with clients, project managers, and fellow team members.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications or vocational training in renewable energy or related fields is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Wind Technician or a similar role in the renewable energy industry.
Rigging Experience and working around a crane
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Solid understanding of wind turbine operations, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel extensively, sometimes for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
