About The Job
We are seeking a highly motivated Flagger I (Traffic Safety) to be an important part of our team. This opportunity sits within Cityside Fiber Networks Construction Division (CFN CX). This team is responsible for all construction activities that have not been completed by general contractors. The Flagger I (Traffic Safety) will be responsible for directing traffic safely around construction sites and other areas where road work is being performed. This role will ensure the safety of both workers and the general public. You will operate in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment and excel in hitting the company’s objectives. To be successful, you will have superior communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Understand Cityside Fiber’s core purpose and values and be passionate about what we do.
- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic using hand signals, signs, and traffic control devices.
- Set up and remove traffic control signs, cones, and barricades.
- Monitor the construction zone to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
- Communicate effectively with other flaggers, construction workers, and supervisors to manage traffic movements.
- Adjust traffic control setups as needed based on site conditions and project requirements.
- Properly handle and maintain traffic control equipment.
- Ensure that all safety gear is worn and used correctly at all times.
- Work in and contribute to an atmosphere of trust and integrity with fellow employees to ensure the overall success of Cityside Fiber.
Qualifications
- High energy individual who is willing to be an integral part of a high growth service provider who puts people first, dares to be different and has fun disrupting an industry
- High school degree or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in traffic control or a related field
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and work in various weather conditions
- Basic understanding of traffic control practices and procedures
- Experience communicating to and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent organizational skills- Ability to multi-task and be highly responsive to internal and external clients
- Demonstrated highest level of integrity, intellectual honesty and strong work ethic
- Sharp, analytical, and thoughtful.
- Consistent effort, intense commitment, and willingness to go above and beyond when needed
- Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid state driver’s license and good driving record
Location
Our Headquarters and field offices are located in Irvine. Our local yard is location in Tustin. You will be required to travel to project/customer sites to fulfill job responsibilities.
Compensation
Starting at $20.00 an hour (actual starting rate may vary based on candidate’s qualifications, skills and years of experience).
