Position Overview:
MPI is looking for a skilled and reliable CDL Driver/Laborer to join our Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) crew. This dual-role position involves operating a Class B box truck to transport materials and equipment to job sites, as well as assisting the crew with labor tasks involved in the CIPP process. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, physically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities:Driving Duties:
- Operate a Class B box truck to transport equipment, tools, and materials to and from job sites safely and efficiently.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in good operating condition.
- Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, as well as company safety policies.
- Secure and load/unload equipment and materials in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle inspections.
Laborer Duties:
- Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of CIPP equipment at job sites.
- Help prepare sewer lines for CIPP installation, including cleaning and inspecting pipes.
- Operate and maintain pressure hoses, CCTV inspection equipment, and other tools as needed.
- Support the crew with the installation and curing of CIPP liners.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist in restoring job sites to original conditions after work is completed.
- Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Perform other labor-related tasks as directed by the crew leader or supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL Class B license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in construction, plumbing, sewer maintenance, or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and materials.
- Strong attention to safety and a commitment to following company safety guidelines.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and outside normal business hours as needed.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug test.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and sewer environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
