We are seeking skilled and motivated Asphalt Paving Laborers and Operators to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation and maintenance of asphalt surfaces, operating paving machinery, and ensuring quality control and safety standards are met during the paving process. You will work as part of a dynamic team on various road construction and paving projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Asphalt Paving Laborer:
- Assist in the preparation of job sites by cleaning, clearing, and setting up materials.
- Transport and assist in the placement of asphalt on construction sites.
- Operate hand tools and machinery for tasks such as spreading, compacting, and leveling asphalt.
- Ensure materials and equipment are in good working condition.
- Perform manual labor tasks including lifting, shoveling, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist in setting up and taking down jobsite barricades and safety equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols and report any safety hazards to supervisor
Asphalt Paving Operator:
- Operate asphalt paving machines, rollers, and other heavy equipment for the proper placement and compaction of asphalt.
- Control and monitor paving machine settings to ensure the asphalt is applied evenly and according to specifications.
- Conduct pre-operation checks to ensure the equipment is safe and in good working condition.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
- Work closely with laborers, flaggers, and other team members to coordinate and execute the paving process efficiently.
- Ensure the proper depth, alignment, and surface finish of paved areas.
- Follow safety protocols, ensuring the safety of the team and the public.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in asphalt paving or road construction is preferred, but not required.
- For operators: Proven experience operating asphalt paving machinery (e.g., pavers, rollers, skip loaders).
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
