LEE Chamberlin Consultant Engineers is looking for a Survey Crew Chief to join our growing team! As a survey crew chief, you will operate as a supervisor for our survey crew and additional staff members assisting in survey assignments. This position requires you to be diligent in field procedures, complete all assigned tasks in a timely fashion, and always maintains company standards. The types of surveys performed include ALTA/ACSM Land Titles Surveys, Route Surveys, Topographic Surveys, and Construction Staking. Survey crew chiefs adhere to QA/QC procedures and note-taking, along with following instructions/work orders from project managers. In this position, you will have the opportunity to be involved in civil engineering projects from a variety of different fields including transportation, city engineering, commercial sites, industrial sites, housing developments, surveying, construction administration, and more!
Our company is a full-service civil engineering and land surveying firm that provides comprehensive planning, design, and construction services to clients in both the public and private sectors. We implement a centralized project approach where we work with our clients through every step of the process from land and title surveys to construction administration, and we have over 25 years of experience completing an assortment of projects from small-scale road grading and paving improvements to large scale housing developments.

Responsibilities
- Complete all assigned tasks in a timely fashion, be diligent in field procedures and maintain company standards at all times.
- Supervise additional staff members assisting in survey assignments. Types of surveys performed: ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Route Surveys, Topographic Surveys and Construction Staking
- Adhere to QA/QC procedures and note taking
- Follow instruction/work orders from project managers.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with Trimble GPS, Trimble Robotic Total Station (S7), Trimble (TSC3&7) and TDS Ranger Data Collectors
- 5 – 10 years of survey crew chief experience including ALTA and Sectional Boundary Survey
- Construction layout, ability to read and comprehend Construction Plans
- Strong math skills
- Valid Driver’s license
- Ability to use MicroStation and OpenRoads is a plus
- Ability to organize field notes and execute field staking.
- Strong verbal/communication skills and computer skills
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Proficient with IDOT Standards/Code lists and survey requirements
- Review and follow project scope, keeping all project information and electronic files well organized.
- LSIT credential a plus
